Richard Hurfords talented conjecture on the hours "Before Chapman Shot Lennon", as his new play, Catcher is subtitled, takes place in a Sheraton road house room in New York. Of the dual characters, an unnamed prostitute oneself (lets call her Sunny) and Mark Chapman, we know usually about Chapmans dysfunctional background. The lady he called up the night prior to he shot John Lennon has never suggested her identity.
Basing his one-act play on Chapman, and his mania with Salingers illusory protagonist, Holden Caulfield, Hurford has combined a retaining investigate of the perplexed interior of Chapmans mind and the dismayed reactions of the lady in the petty immature dress.
